Kerecis produces tissue-based, skin-substitute products for use in surgery and for treating wounds. Compared to other tissue-transplant products, the KerecisTM Omega3 fish skin is cost-effective, offers improved clinical performance, reduces the risk of disease transfer, and has no cultural constraints on usage.
When the dura becomes damaged as a result of head injury, cancer ingrowth, or brain surgery, dural substitutes are necessary to prevent leakage of the spinal fluids and to ensure that dura openings heal after surgery. Kerecis™ Omega3 Dura has been specially designed for the reconstruction of dura matter. Kerecis™ Omega3 Dura is similar to the natural dura and can be fully absorbed and integrated into the patient’s own tissue. Kerecis™ Omega3 Dura is stretchable and easy to suture, helping to contain the brain, spine, and spinal fluid and to facilitate unsurpassed strong and lasting repair of the dura.
Kerecis Omega3 Dura is under development and not yet regulatory cleared in any markets.
