Speakers this time were Dr. Ram Velamuri, MD, FACS, MS, DNB, MRCS-Ed, a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and medical director at Firefighters Burn Center in Memphis, TN and Dr. Cordova, MD, FACS, FAAST, a board-certified critical care surgeon at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL.

They shared their experience with using Kerecis fish skin for burn wound management with a special emphasis on the healing time and the implications that has on their practice.

The webinar explored and discussed findings and best practices in utilizing Kerecis fish skin grafts in the management of burn injuries and traumatic wounds. Traumatic and burn injuries are associated with an increased hospital length of stay (LOS) with age, morbidity, and severity known risk factors. However, new and advanced treatments, such as fish skin technologies, may attenuate LOS reducing economic burden and morbidity.
