Over the past several years, Iceland has emerged as a vibrant center for medical and scientific innovation, with Kerecis at the forefront in the area of wound healing and tissue repair.
To discuss and promote our technology, Kerecis has hosted recurring workshops chaired by leaders in wound care, such as Dr. David Armstrong, Dr. Robert Kirsner, Dr. John C. Lantis II, Dr. Karl Stark and Dr. David Margolis. The Chairs have been joined by contributions from each workshop participant. The workshop’s purpose is to receive hands on training on the Kerecis graft, to exchange best practices across the Atlantic and to discuss wound care trends in general.
We have also had the privilege of hosting guests such as President Gudni Th. Johannesson of Iceland, former President Olafur Grimsson, Iceland’s Ministers of Health and Innovation, the U.S. Ambassador to Iceland and Admiral Matthias Winter of the U.S. Navy.
The Arctic Midnight Sun Wound Workshop will take place July 15–17, 2021, at the height of the Arctic summer, when the sun never sets. The event will focus on new developments in OR, burn and trauma use of the Kerecis fish-skin technology.
PLEASE NOTE: Standard fare air travel, meals and lodging are covered by Kerecis for invited doctors and medical professionals for the duration of the workshop. Travel has to be booked by Kerecis; self-made travel arrangements will not be reimbursed. Kerecis does not pay for family members and/or spouses. However, we can assist in their travel arrangements. We’ll do our best to accommodate their needs, and assist them in scheduling sightseeing and experiencing Iceland. For those interested in extending their stay in Iceland, we will also be happy to assist you with arrangements. VA employees are not eligible to participate in this event.
